Police Officers and civilian employees of the Edmond Police Department have found themselves in a tight spot after years of growing as a Department to meet the needs of a growing city. The tight spot is due to the fact that they have outgrown just about every area of the Police Station.

The current site of Police Headquarters is a renovated City hall with a 2nd floor addition. The Police Department moved into this building in 1980 when Edmonds population was 34,600 and there were only 49 sworn Police Officers.

The Edmond Kiwanis Club is planning Edmond's Second annual "Santa on a Fire Truck" toy collection for the HOPE Center. This year, Kiwanis plans to expand from three to six neighborhoods. Last year was a great success.

Edmond Kiwanis Member Charles Jorge from Oaktree Park Addition will again head up this project in partnership with Century 21 Goodyear Green, who own a 1950's era Fire Truck. Santa rides into the neighborhoods to visit younger residents. There is a special collection plan which collects toys for the Center and the kids.
